[Introduction]

What is the Hydraulic oil ?

• Hydraulic oil is a suitable solution for hydraulic equipment and used for tool machines, press machines, aircraft, construction equipment, automobiles, and so on. Hydraulic oil plays important role throughout industry.
  It functions in power transmission, parts lubrication, prevention of rust and corrosion in hydraulic system, and the extension of machine and tool life by cooling the system.

The important qualities for hydraulic oil.

• Suitable viscosity.
• Low pour point, so working is possible even in low temperature.
• High viscosity index minimizes viscosity change according to operational temperature.
• Excellent non-wear of operational parts.
• Excellent anti-foaming agency to prevents cavitation in operation.
• Excellent demulsification ability to make possible to separate water and oil.

Kinematic viscosity

• Under normal conditions, the viscosity change should not be large; the control standard is ± 10%. If viscosity change is over the figure, it is considered mixture of other oil and oxidation and an oil refill might be necessary.

Moisture

• The ordinary control standard of moisture is less than 1000ppm.
  (Exception: F/E system -2000ppm, W/G system- 40±5% )
  If moisture is around the control standard, it is necessary to drain and refill the oil

Total acid value

• If acid value is 0.5mg KOH/g over the original oil when the total acid value is measured, It is oxidated and it may be necessary to have an oil refill.
